IBPS PO or IBPS Clerk: which one should you prepare for?

Gayatri Pillai Posted 24 days ago 1K views

Both exams have a Prelims and a Mains stage. The key difference is that IBPS PO has an interview after the Mains, while the IBPS Clerk selection is based on the Prelims and Mains.

  • The PO is an officer level entry with a different responsibility and career track.
  • The Clerk is a customer facing entry level role in branches.
  • The syllabus overlaps in quantitative aptitude, reasoning and English, so many candidates prepare for both.
  • Check the latest notification for eligibility, age limits and the selection process.

Decide by the kind of work you want, not only by the exam difficulty.

Correct. If you are a graduate and unsure, prepare the common syllabus first. You can choose the exam to apply for later.
